Student Board Positions
Executive Board
President
• Schedule and run Board and Executive Committee meetings
• Schedule and coordinate annual Leadership Retreat/Training in conjunction with the Hillel advisor
• Manage Hillel calendar and conduct annual calendar planning, in consultation with advisor
• Serve as Hillel's liaison to the Student Senate
• Serve as a member of the Hillel Foundation Board
• Represent Hillel at University functions
• Attend Student Senate Presidents meetings
• Have an understanding of the Student Senate Finance Handbook and the Student Organization Manual
• Oversee the operations of the Executive Committee
• Hold signatory power over the Student Senate accounts of Hillel, jointly with the Treasurer
• Attend a majority of events
Vice President of Shabbat and Holidays
• Oversee Committee work, and report such to the Executive Committee
• Meet with Committee on a regular basis to facilitate programming
• Coordinate Friday evening Shabbat Services
• Plan themes and menus for Shabbats in cooperation with the Advisor
• Assist with preparation and clean up of Shabbat and holiday meals
• Attend a majority of Shabbat and Holiday events
Vice President of Cultural and Educational Programming
• Oversee Education, Multicultural and Israel Chairs and Committee work and report such to the Executive Committee
• Meet with Chairs on a regular basis to facilitate programming
• Attend majority of Israel, Cultural and Educational programs
• Serve as Hillel's liaison to the URI'S Multicultural Student Organization (M.U.S.I.C.)
Vice President of Social Programming
• Oversee FYSH and Greek Life Liaison Chairs and Committee work, and report such to the Executive Committee
• Meet with Chairs on a regular basis to facilitate programming
• Plan and host at least one (1) social event per semester with campus-wide appeal
• Attend majority of Social events
Treasurer/ Secretary
• Gain a thorough knowledge of the Student Senate Finance Handbook
• Hold signatory power over the accounts of Hillel, jointly with the President
• Maintain the financial records of Hillel
• Mentor others through the Senate accounting system as needed
• Facilitate an understanding of the Senate accounting system among the Board
• Facilitate the operations of Hillel through strategic budgeting and spending
• Record and distribute minutes of Executive Committee and Board meetings
• Maintain a record of Committee attendance and minutes
• Maintain the constitution and bylaws
• Attend at least eight (8) programs per semester

• Assist the Advisor in identifying Alternative Break trips
• Recruit individuals to participate on Alternative Break trips
• Attend majority of Tzedek events
Israel Chair
• Schedule and direct the Israel Committee
• Plan and host at least three Israel-centric events per semester
• Report to the Vice President of Cultural and Educational Programming
• Help recruit for Taglit-Birthright Israel trips
Multicultural Chair
• Attend Multicultural Presidents’ meetings and serve as Hillel's liaison to the URI'S Multicultural Student Organization (M.U.S.I.C.)
• Coordinate events with other student cultural groups
• Plan and host Holocaust education events
• Report to the Vice President of Cultural and Educational Programming
Education Chair
• Plan and host Jewish educational programs
• Publicize and facilitate URI students attending Jewish educational events on other campuses and throughout the community
• Report to the Vice President of Cultural and Education Programming
