Ways to Report an Antisemitic Incident
If you have experienced or witnessed an incident of antisemitism, extremism, bias, bigotry or hate, you may report it through the following resources:
URI Police:
Any acts of vandalism, direct threats or violence should immediately be reported to URI Police at
401-874-4910 or 911 on campus
Any off-campus incidents should be reported to the local police department by calling 911 and also be reported to the University.
URI Hillel:
URI Hillel has a strategic relationship with the Anti-Defamation League (ADL) to report all campus antisemitic activities. URI Hillel also has relationships with the URI Department of Student Affairs, the Office of Community, Equity, and Diversity, and URI Public Safety. Contact Amy Olson at 401-874-2740 to discuss and report any incidents. URI Hillel will assist in contacting appropriate URI departments and Jewish community organizations.
Hillel International, in cooperation with the Anti-Defamation League and Secure Community Network (SCN) also has an online antisemitism reporting form. This reporting site does not replace calling 911 in case of immediate threats, intimidation or violence. Although anonymous reporting is allowed, the preference is for a contact so that there can be appropriate follow up. https://www.reportcampushate.org.
URI Bias Resource Team (https://web.uri.edu/brt/)
You can report any bias incident online. The system also allows for anonymous reporting. BRT members will review your case and inform appropriate parties to address your concern. When contact information is provided, the BRT will review your options and connect you with campus resources that best suit your needs. Any member of the BRT can answer questions regarding the bias report form and campus resources.
Anti-Defamation League (ADL):
Antisemitic acts can be reported directly to ADL using this form: https://www.adl.org/report-incident
In addition, ADL has established the Campus Antisemitism Legal Line (CALL). CALL is a collaboration of ADL, Hillel, Louis D. Brandeis Center and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. If any student needs legal assistance following an antisemitic incident, they should contact CALL: www.legal-protection.org or text “CALLhelp” to 51555 (this includes reporting the incident).
Alpha Epsilon Pi Fraternity:
AEPi in collaboration with the ADL has established a form for members and chapters to report incidents of antisemitism through the Antisemitism Resource Center (ARC).
For questions contact: Ethan White, ARC Director at 302-545-5508 and/or Eitan Toyansky, ARC Coordinator at 224-723-0266. The Rho Chapter should also notify its regional director (Tomer Kornfeld) and advisor (Rick Wilkes at 908-672-5580).
