Hillel Student Interns
Hillel hires several paid student interns each year to staff the front desk and perform specific duties such as communications and social media, kitchen management/chef, data entry and record keeping, building decoration and goody bag assembly, and Shabbat and Brunch set up and clean up. Each intern works 6-10 hours each week. The ideal candidate is friendly, outgoing, organized and reliable. Students eligible for Federal Work Study are strongly encouraged to apply.

Communications Intern Hillel’s Communications Intern creates, manages, and controls URI Hillel’s presence on social media platforms. Their role includes creating graphics and advertisements for Hillel programs and initiatives, creating and maintaining the schedule of posts across social media platforms and updating Hillel’s website with current events, relevant news, blogposts etc., brainstorming and implementing social media campaigns, and strategizing ways to connect with Jewish students online. Click here for detailed Job Description Kitchen Manager/Chef The Kitchen Manager/Chef creates the menus and shopping lists for Hillel programs and cooks the food for these programs. This includes but is not limited to bi-weekly Shabbat dinners and monthly Sunday brunches. The Kitchen Manager/Chef also build relationships with students interested in cooking and finds and creates opportunities to bring these students into the kitchen to cook. Cooking experience, and knowledge or willingness to learn about kashrut is essential. Ideal candidate should be proficient in Excel and must be extremely detail oriented and discrete. Knowledge of Quick Books a plus and aptitude to become proficient at Little Green Light (data base program). Engagement and Programming Intern Engagement and Programming Interns are responsible for meeting Jewish students outside of Hillel and within their own communities (Class Years, Greek Houses, Majors, Hobbies...). They learn more about students and their interests, ensure all students feel welcomed, and make sure students have a friend to grab coffee or to come to programming with. These interns will also work to create meaningful and exciting programming based on the interest of the students they engage.
