Lawrence (Larry) Katz
Occupation: Retired Jewish Educator
In what ways are you available to help students?
Brief Bio and Fun Fact(s): I just finished a long career as a Jewish educator, primarily in the areas of professional development, educational resources and Israel engagement. I have worked for Jewish federations, a Jewish community center, central agencies for Jewish education and Hebrew schools, sometimes two of these at the same time. I have been active in the Conservative/Masorti movement of Judaism and am president of its Jewish Educators Assembly. I collect stamps depicting Jews, synagogues, the Bible, etc., of which there are many thousands. I travelled as a teen to the Soviet Union and somehow managed not to be thrown out. I then visited Israel for the first of twenty times. I look forward to traveling and studying more during my retirement. |
