URI Hillel's Student Leadership Committees
The URI Hillel's Student Leadership Team is made up of different Leadership Committees. The committees work to create programming, share content, and build community around different areas of interest!
Any URI student can join one or more of the committees! The Social Action Committee focuses on engagement and programming centered on volunteer, service, and philanthropy. Some examples of their projects are:
The Israel Committee works on meeting with students who have a connection to Israel; building students' connection and knowledge about Israel; and Israel cultural and educational programming. Some examples of their projects are:
The Jewish Life Committee creates programming centered on Jewish holidays, rituals, traditions, and education and makes Judaism accessible to college students. Some of their projects include:
The Food and Cooking Committee is a group of students who like to cook! They create programming for Hillel sharing the art of Jewish and Israeli cooking and they prepare meals for different Hillel programs. Some of their projects include:
The Major Programs Committee works on creating and advertising larger programs that Hillel puts on for the URI community. Some of these programs include:
Each committee chooses its own leader(s) to represent them as their Committee Chair(s). Each committee will meet regularly and the Committee Chairs will meet together regularly to communicate their committee's projects with each other. All of the Leadership Committees and their members will meet together twice a semester. |
