Occupation: URI Associate Professor of Public Health How would you describe yourself in 3 words? Ice cream connoisseur In what ways are you available to help students?
Brief Bio and Fun Fact: I'm passionate about public health, specifically in working toward reducing health disparities and ensuring all people can live long healthy lives. I've been in academia for almost 20 years. I like to say that someday I'll get a job in the real world. I grew up in nearby Brockton, Massachusetts, was educated at Brandeis (BA), Tufts (MPH), and Johns Hopkins (DrPH). Even though I'm not a URI alum, I spent a lot of time at URI as a kid, cheering on my sister who was on the URI swim team. My wife and I, along with our two kids, live in Central Rhode Island and are active members of our local synagogue. In my spare time, you can find me at my kids' soccer games, traveling, going for long walks in the woods, or sampling the finest ice cream Rhode Island has to offer. |
