Shabbat
Until now, Hillel has hosted a Shabbat evening services and dinners in our building about 2 times a month. Hillel's Shabbat plans for the 2020-2021 year will be determined based on recommendations for safety during the COVID 19 pandemic.
The Hillel Shabbat Evening Service is student-led and varies in style, according to the background of person leading. Hillel is open to expanding its Shabbat service/dinner offerings and frequency as demand dictates. Shabbat dinners are FREE for students! |
Students who live off campus who wish to host Shabbat dinners where they live may contact Michael at Hillel for support and supplies.
In order to continue to provide Shabbat dinners free of charge to students, a practice that increases attendance and encourages students to invite friends, URI Hillel seeks Shabbat Sponsors. We invite you to make a $500 contribution to Hillel to fully sponsor a dinner, or a $250 contribution to partially sponsor a dinner. This covers the cost for a home-cooked meal for 30-40 students.
